5-Ingredient Pumpkin Dip Recipe for an Easy Dessert
This autumn, I’ve become obsessed with all things pumpkin—both sweet and savory. This pumpkin dip leans sweet and is the perfect fall dessert for everything from Halloween parties to Thanksgiving dinner to your weekly game day.
Its rich flavor and luxuriously creamy texture make it feel like it’s only for special occasions. However, this easy pumpkin dip recipe is so simple, you’ll want to make it all the time.
And you can! This easy recipe takes less than 10 minutes to prepare!
Pumpkin Dip Ingredients & Substitutions
This easy no-bake dessert has just a handful of simple ingredients that can all be found in grocery stores.
Pumpkin Puree
Sure, you can make your own, but canned pumpkin puree is so much easier! Please note, the puree should be pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling or any type of flavored pumpkin.
You’ll want to buy an extra can of pumpkin puree to make some of our other favorite pumpkin recipes: Pumpkin Cheesecake Overnight Oats, Pumpkin Spice Milkshake, and Creamy Pumpkin Soup.
Cream Cheese
If you want to call this sweet treat “Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip,” I won’t argue. For me, the cream cheese makes the dip, but some recipes use cool whip, sour cream, or even Greek yogurt for the creamy base. I wouldn’t suggest that you opt for any of these alternatives unless you really have to.
Softened cream cheese can replace whipped. But the whipped cream cheese makes it so much easier to obtain a smooth consistency. If you’re watching your fat intake, you can use reduced-fat cream cheese.
Pumpkin Pie Spice
This one ingredient is what gives this simple dip its pumpkin pie flavor. It is worth buying a jar instead of having to add ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground clove, and allspice separately.
Confectioner’s Sugar
Powdered sugar doesn’t have the gritty texture of other sugars, so it’s the best sugar to use if you want a creamy dip. If you switch out the powdered sugar for brown sugar or granulated sugar, use the sugar with the smallest crystals available.
Maple Syrup
This little bit of maple syrup adds just the right amount of sweetness with a hint of maple flavor. Maple can easily overpower the pumpkin spice, so if you want extra maple, add just a little at a time and keep tasting it.
Pumpkin Dip Recipe
Makes 1½ cups of dip
Ingredients
¾ cup pumpkin puree
¾ cup whipped cream cheese
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon maple syrup
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add all of the ingredients. In lieu of a stand mixer, use a large mixing bowl and a hand mixer. Or skip the electric mixer altogether and opt for a food processor.
2. Beat the ingredients on medium speed until well combined and the pumpkin mixture has a smooth texture.
3. Transfer to a serving bowl, or an airtight container to chill.
Serving Pumpkin Dip
This is the best pumpkin dip for fall gatherings of any size. And there’s nothing wrong with a party of one. I’ll fess up right now, I’ve enjoyed this sweet dip many times alone in my kitchen.
It’s the perfect sweet treat cold out of the refrigerator or at room temperature.
What To Dip
You can dip almost anything in this pumpkin pie dessert dip. I especially love cookies. Cookies that complement the pumpkin flavor, like oatmeal cookies, vanilla wafers, Biscoffs, cinnamon graham crackers, and ginger snaps, work best.
Some of my other favorite dippers are apple slices (green apples), mini pumpkin muffins, and marshmallows.
Leftover Dip
Store leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
