Looking for the best places to eat crêpes in Paris, France? You're in the right place! Whether you're craving savory crêpes or sweet crêpes, are on the Left Bank or Right Bank of the Seine, we have the best crêperies in Paris for you.

How do I know who has the best crêpes in Paris? Of course, as a chef and food lover, I have quite a discerning palate. Perhaps even more importantly, I've spent many months over many years in the City of Light devouring more than my fair share of the iconic thin pancake.

Researching the best crepes in Paris

Crêpes are one of France's most famous dishes and you can't visit Paris without eating at least one. Originally from Brittany, a region in western France, crêpes are now enjoyed throughout the country, especially in the capital!

In Paris as in Breton, classic savory crêpes use a beigeish-purplish buckwheat pancake. They can be stuffed with any combination of savory ingredients like meats, cheeses, and eggs. You may also see these buckwheat crêpes called savory galettes or salty crêpes.

Sweet crêpes will use a white wheat pancake, and examples of the fillings include fruit, jams, and chocolate. A Nutella crêpe topped with vanilla ice cream is always a winner!

Now I'll tell you where to find the best crepes Paris France serves.

Best Crepes in Paris: top 10 creperies in Paris

1. Breizh Café

Consistently rated as one of the best crêperies in Paris, Breizh Café is perhaps the most popular crêperie brand. It was created by Bertrand Larcher over 25 years ago.

Larcher, a native of Brittany, credits his time in Japan—where buckwheat is a popular ingredient—for his unique take on the flat pancake.

Make no mistake, there are plenty of traditional crêpes at the 12 Breizh Cafés in and around Paris. But the innovative crêpe chef who founded Breizh also created some items like Breizh rolls with artichokes and wakamé, and buckwheat tuiles served with ingredients such as tofu cream, tarama, or rillettes.

Larcher is obsessed with using sustainable and natural ingredients such as organic buckwheat flour, organic eggs, artisanal hams, smoked salmon, andouille sausage, and, always, Jean-Yves Bordier Breton butter. The butter is the secret to the superb salted butter caramel used in many of the sweet desserts available at Breizh.

Each of the Paris Breizh Cafés has a different menu, but most of the Breton-style crêpes are the same. It is worth noting that while you'll find good crêpes at Little Breizh, the crêperie is not part of Larcher's operation.

With Breizh Café locations in tourist areas like Le Marais, the Odéon, Canal St. Martin, and Rue Montorgueil, you'll never be far from at least one of Larcher’s cafés.

However, if you’re looking to avoid the more touristed crêperies, the Paul Bert location on a small square in Paris’ 11th district is the perfect place. On a side note, this area will be a great neighborhood to stay in during the Paris Olympics 2024.

2. Crêperie Bretonne Fleurie

Crêperie Bretonne Fleurie is a must-visit for crepe lovers in the French capital. With its blue facade and Breton-inspired wood decor, it almost feels like you are at a seafront creperie in Brittany!

However, Bretonne Fleurie is located on Rue de Charonne, a trendy area of eastern Paris where the younger set gathers to have a drink and catch up.

This popular Paris creperie has all of the classic buckwheat galettes you could hope for, like the traditional galette complète with ham, cheese, and egg. In addition, you'll also find lots of original crêpes, such as the galette with goat cheese, bacon, and eggs, and a wide range of options for vegetarian crepes too.

The sweet crepes are also worth a try—you won’t be disappointed. From flowing chocolate to candied fruit to Grand Marnier flambé crepes, your taste buds will thank you for indulging in some of the best sweet crepes in Paris!

3. Au P’tit Grec

No list of best Parisian creperies would be complete without Au P'tit Grec.

Located on the foodie street Rue Mouffetard in the Latin Quarter, Au P'tit Grec focuses on high-quality ingredients to create some of the best crepes in Paris.

It's also an excellent place for those looking for inexpensive French cuisine. The first time I visited Paris in the ‘90s, I realized les crêpes in general were a good value. And if that's important to you, there may not be a better place to eat a French crêpe in Paris than at Au P'tit Grec!

Pro-tip: Seating is limited in this small shop, so be prepared to do takeaway if you're not one of the lucky sitters.

Address: 68 Rue Mouffetard, 75005 Paris, France

4. Crêperie Armorix

This small restaurant is the best spot for crepes near the Canal Saint-Martin. Its yellow storefront is very eye-catching, while its cozy interior made of stones will charm you during your visit.

But do they serve good crêpes? You bet! Their crepes are just as delightful as the décor and are among the most delicious crepes in Paris.

The menu offers a variety of options, from classic ham and cheese to more unique flavors like Guémené andouilles with pickled onions; Basque sheep's cheese with Espelette pepper; and an array of vegan dishes.

The names of their galettes are very Gaulish, and their fillings very Breton. Don't miss out on their famous salted caramel crepe for the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

5. La Crêperie de Josselin

Craving a traditional Breton-style galette or dessert crepe? Look no further than Crêperie de Josselin in the 14th arrondissement. Don't be deterred by the long lines, it's definitely worth the wait.

This family-run restaurant is located in the Montparnasse area, right next to one of the four biggest train stations in Paris. The 14th may sound like it's in the boonies, but it's actually a very central location.

This quaint creperie with paneled walls and a street-side terrace has been serving authentic sweet wheat pancakes and savory galettes for decades.

Of course, I love French cheeses, so some of my top picks here are the 3 Cheese (with Emmental, Roquefort, and goat cheese), the Roquefort Noix, and the Chèvre Noix crepes.

Address: 67 Rue du Montparnasse, 75014 Paris, France

6. Tanguy Creperie

Tanguy restaurant is a real gem near the Grands Boulevards neighborhood in the 10th arrondissement. The restaurant has two connected rooms with distinct styles. In one, you'll find stark street-chic Berlin-style decor. In the other, the rough-hewn walls coupled with an incredible ceiling painting will transport you to another era.

But, of course, what makes a good crêperie is the food. And one bite will tell you this is one of the best restaurants for crepes in Paris. The selection is so good that you will never need to go to Brittany solely for the crêpes since you can eat the yummiest Breton crêpes right in the middle of Paris!

Gwilherm Tanguy is another creperie chef who is a fanatic about ingredients. From the organic flour sourced at his cousin's mill to local produce and Tomme de Priziac organic cheese, no compromises are made on quality.

With a mix of traditional crepe recipes that you would expect, and some more creative offerings like roasted butternut squash with hazelnuts and honey, there's something for everyone on this menu. Whatever you order, you can be sure it will be delicious and well presented.

7. Crêperie Gigi

This hidden gem in the 3rd district is just a 10-minute walk from Rue Vieille du Temple. With a cute country atmosphere and friendly service, it's the perfect spot to enjoy the French tradition of eating crepes.

The building still bears the old inscriptions painted on the facade, such as "Au Tour de France," the most famous bike competition in the world. It makes the entrance of the creperie even more inviting.

But the real magic happens inside the restaurant, when your plate arrives. No matter what you order, the crepes will be well filled with high-quality products. Gigi offers amazing salty-sweet crepes, such as andouille with apples, and sausage and onions with mustard and honey.

For an authentic French dining experience, pair your crepe with a glass of cider.

8. La Crêperie

Located across from the Pantheon, La Creperie is a popular choice among locals for crepes in the 5th. It's also the perfect location if you're near the Luxembourg Gardens or the Odéon.

And if you happen to be a fan of the series “Emily in Paris,” her apartment and favorite boulangerie from the early seasons are just around the corner. I have to admit, I took a peek the last time I was there and was surprised I didn't see any tourists gawking.

As the name suggests, La Creperie is an authentic crepe restaurant where Parisians come to eat the namesake traditional dish.

In addition to preparing typical crepes with common ingredients from many French regions, La Creperie has incorporated some really yummy ingredients from beyond France. In fact, my personal favorite is the Alaskan Galette with smoked salmon and avocado. It's also a pretty good deal!

Nab a table outside for both a spectacular view of the Pantheon and intriguing people watching.

9. Creperie Chez Suzette

Chez Suzette is a super crêperie with four restaurants in the heart of Paris. I find the one in the 2nd arrondissement to usually be the most convenient. It feels very classy and is one of my favorite places to eat a crepe before or after seeing a musical or play at one of the nearby theaters.

The service is fast, the ingredients are fresh, and the overall quality is top-notch. Chez Suzette offers as many vegan options as omnivore options, including special dishes from many French regions.

For instance, the Montagnarde has raclette cheese and sour cream, while the Lyonnaise has sausage, Emmental and onions. Chez Suzette undoubtably serves some of the best crepes in Paris.

Address: 23 Boulevard Poissonnière, 75002 Paris, France

10. Crêperie Brocéliande

The Crêperie Brocéliande is a summertime institution in Montmarte! Their terrace is especially pleasant when the sun is out.

Their organic buckwheat galettes de Bretagne are crispy without being greasy. Of course, what's inside is just as important. The savory crepes are heartily filled with top-of-the-line smoked salmon, artisanal meats, and incredible cheeses.

The sweet crepes at this Montmartre creperie are especially yummy. Don't hesitate to try the caramelized apples or chocolate and flambé crepes: They are hands-down some of the best sweet crepes Paris has to offer.
